Parliamentary budget offices and independent fiscal institutions in the world

Independent fiscal institutions are created in the parliaments of different countries. Their main tasks include budget analysis, implementation of economic and fiscal forecasts. The purpose of the publication is to provide general characteristics and peculiarities of independent fiscal institutions from different countries of the world: history of creation, purpose, tasks, functions, organizational structure, how employees occupy positions, etc.

Generally, 20 independent fiscal institutions are analyzed in such countries as: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Korea, Mexico, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, the Slovak Republic, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States.
